Technology


Since I took the class last semester, I am at least familiar with some of the technology tools.  

Some things I have no experience with are image editing and graphics creation.  I think it would be really cool to learn how to edit photos and images, which is something I don’t know how to do as of yet.  Graphics creation is also something that is really popular with people my age, so that would be interesting to learn how to do as well.

Two Turtle Jatakas I chose Two Turtle Jatakas for two reasons.   Firstly, I call my father “papa turtle” so turtles have a very special place in my heart.   I think it could be fun to take personality traits of my father and apply those to one of the turtle stories.   The second reason is that of the two different representations of the turtle in Indian myth.   In most cultures, you do not get to see a dual representation of certain animals, especially the turtle.   The Wise Turtle is such an encompassing stereotype so I was excited to read about a turtle behaving in a less dignified manner.   Both the stories came from versions in Jataka Tales by Ellen C. Week 2 Story: The Turtle is a Demon

The Turtle is a Demon In an Indian kingdom, there were many fine men.   They were devout and steadfast men with a strict loyalty to their morality and the divine teachings.   This made things very hard for the demonic creatures of the area to get any sort of mischief done.   These upright and good men were making their duties difficult to complete.   The mythical and dangerous beings roaming the kingdom were forced to adapt and overcome this obstacle.   One, in particular, known as Kappa, had taken to the rivers in the form of a turtle.   He was a shape-shifter and cleverly knew that the king had recently opened his little pond to the river, allowing fish inside.   It also allowed Kappa to drift into the low banks and onto castle grounds. Week 8 Comments and Feedback

Cheezburger Todo Sobre: Feedback I really appreciate the positive feedback that I am receiving, especially the detailed ones that point out exactly what they enjoyed in my work. It is important to me to be able to identify the things I am doing correctly because as a writer it can be hard to judge your own work accurately since I cannot see things in a broader sense like a reader can. My eyes get drawn to certain places, things I am unhappy with, so it is important to me to be reminded that my work is composed of more than just the parts that I am unsure about. I try my best to compose my own feedback with positive and negative or critical feedback. Since I normally work with other writers, like in my creative writing classes, I sometimes forget that not everyone knows all the rules or the helpful tips that my teachers have taught.
